I painted this landscape from a photograph I took on on the evening of the Summer Solstice in 2015. A late afternoon thunderstorm had cleared leaving the sky filled with angry clouds just as the sun was setting.
An other-worldly glow of warm light rendered the sky in purples and pinks while turning up the saturation of other colors reflected in the rain-soaked beach grass. The shallow tide pool turned turquoise and the wet sand picked up the blue and pink hues of the dramatic sky.
Signed in the lower right corner. Accompanied by a certificate of authenticity. Framed in a handsome walnut stained floater frame, this painting was made on heavy Italian 100% cotton oil-gessoed canvas stretched across reinforced heavy-duty bars. All hanging hardware is included.
