I painted this picture of a woman swimming toward the pool's edge from a photo I took on a hot August afternoon. The pool was mostly covered in shade except for a few spots of full sun. I knew if I waited, my lovely subject would eventually swim into one of these brilliantly lit areas.
When she did, I could see her arms moving both above and beneath the surface and her foot rise out of her turbulent wake. Later, when I inspected the photo more closely, I decided I'd take a shot at painting it to see if I could represent a body in water convincingly.
This painting is 14"w X 24"h x 1/2"d and may be purchased with an optional natural hardwood floater frame. Please allow 7 days for framing in addition to normal ground shipping time. The work is signed on the verso side and will be accompanied by a certificate of authenticity.
