A framed, signed (lower left corner) original oil painting by Mark Laurence LaRiviere on 1/4" Masonite® panel measuring approximately 24" square. The framed dimensions are: 29" x 29-3/8" x 1-1/4" The hard board support was coated with three layers of Gesso and sanded to a smooth surface. A layer of gloss varnish protects the painted surface. The work was professionally framed by Gilded River Framers, Port Chester, NY.

This imaginary landscape depicts cedar trees in the foreground receding to a pond surrounded by thick undergrowth. The lively brushwork animates a limited palette to produce a natural scene inspired by my visit to the deep woods of the Babcock Preserve in Greenwich, CT.
